Credit units system in post graduate professional education of physicians

AbstractInternational collaborative program in medical education restructuring initiated in 1984 and aimed at creating common All-European educational territory in the sphere of professional education is successfully developing in European countries. More than one thousand European Universities employ the system of credits transfer and collection. The paper dwells on the ways of Russian educational traditions adaptation to European and International standards, introduction of continuous professional development and the system of credit units. A common structure of continuous post graduate education of medical specialists in Russia according to Boulogne declaration prin-ciples is proposed. The paper presents the system of credits collection developed in I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. The system is considered to be a common model of evaluating credit units collection system.
