MIND MAP IS ONE OF THE METHODS OF FORMING COMPETENCIES

Abstract

Currently, medical education is undergoing significant changes due to the fact that the main teaching doctrine, the competence-based approach, has been formulated and implemented. Competence building begins with the first course and continues throughout the entire period of study. The basic educational programs are changed and supplemented, taking into account the needs of students. It became necessary to move from formal logistics training to innovative technologies, including computer technologies. The teacher can take into account the individual needs of students and complement the classes with a certain type of technology. The mind map is a reliable tool that allows you to significantly improve the process of memorizing material, which will contribute to formation of general cultural and professional competencies. The aim of the work was to use the computer technology "Intellect-card" to increase the effectiveness of training in the cycle "Anaesthesiology, resuscitation and intensive therapy". For successful mastering of theoretical material, students were asked to create a mind map, which schematically shows the key points of the theme under study, i.e. an optimal scheme for a specific theme was created on one page. The creation of such a scheme requires from the student in depth study of the literature, analysis and synthesis of obtained information, selection of the most important provisions or presentation of an algorithm according to the nosological form.

The proposed methodology using a mind map led to significant increase in indices of material assimilation. To achieve the goal of this work, the teacher must use all available resources, including computer technologies.
