Team interaction of graduate students. Simulation training for team work

Abstract

The importance of learning command of knowledge, the need for training physicians teamwork already in anybody does not cause doubts. What team skills and individual skills do graduate students have to work in a team? From their point of view, what is a team, what general knowledge should it possess? How do graduate students assess their own communication skills? To what extent are they prepared to lead? What can the team offer, how do they expect to cope with a difficult and unfamiliar task, solve problems that arise when working in a group? The research conducted at the Department of medical pedagogy, philosophy and foreign languages of Russian Medical Academy of Continuing Professional Education allowed to answer these questions. And to suggest the structure of simulation team training based on the results of the study, the resulting typology of social roles of graduate students.

AMEE Guide # 99. Curriculum planning. Curriculum development for the workplace using entrustable professional activities (EPAs) (Edited by Alekseeva A.Yu.)

Abstract

This guide was written to support educators interested in building a competency-based workplace curriculum. It aims to provide an up-to-date overview of the literature on Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs), supplemented with suggestions for practical application to curriculum construction, assessment and educational technology. The guide first introduces concepts and definitions related to EPAs and then guidance for their identification, elaboration and validation, while clarifying common misunderstandings about EPAs. A matrix-mapping approach of combining EPAs with competencies is discussed, and related to existing concepts such as competency milestones. A specific section is devoted to entrustment decision-making as an inextricable part of working with EPAs. In using EPAs, assessment in the workplace is translated to entrustment decision-making for designated levels of permitted autonomy ranging from acting under full supervision to providing supervision to a junior learner. A final section is devoted to the use of technology, including mobile devices and electronic portfolios to support feedback to trainees about their progress and to support entrustment decision-making by programme directors or clinical teams.

Identifying the features of the process of evaluation of students' works by registering oculomotor reactions in university teachers

Abstract

At the core of the implementation of the university teacher's pedagogical activity lies the constant solution of a multitude of problems. Among these problems, one of the most significant is the teacher's assessment of learning outcomes. The presence of the making decisions person in a learning process brings the element of subjectivism into the process of forming and choosing rational decisions. In this regard, there is a problem of the subjectivism reducing in taking evaluative decisions by the teacher by identifying and taking into account the psychological factors, that make influence on the process of making evaluative decisions. In research was undertaking the attempt to identify the peculiarities of the solving assessment problems process by registering oculomotor reactions in university teachers. As a result of the process studying of solving assessment problems by registering oculomotor reactions in university teachers, it has been established that the strategy of students' written work viewing in the process of solving assessment problems is determined by a cognitive attitude.

The dynamics of publication activity in the segment of "continuous medical education” in modern information systems

Abstract

One of the main tasks of the modern health care system in the Russian Federation is to achieve the highest quality level of a medical specialist with the population.

The quality, reliability and safety of treatment is the health care guarantee at the state level will conform to the high international standards. It can be achieved by organizing the correct system of continuous medical education.

Scientometric and bibliometric indicators, that have already become traditional, testify to the relevance of the problems and the demand for scientific solutions. Accordingly, the growth of the scientometric indicators can be an indicator of the effectiveness of the scientific and pedagogical staff on the one hand and the relevance and the need to solve problems in the subject, on the other hand.

The aim of the work was the implementation of analytical work according to the scientometric and bibliometric parameters of scientific journals, where it is possible to publish articles on the problem of continuing education and continuing medical education. The analysis is carried out using domestic and foreign databases of scientific citation.

At the 1st stage it is according to the criteria: the dynamics of the number of journals, the place of the journal in the SCIENCE INDEX rating for the period from 2013 to 2017, the change in the total number of citations of the journal in the current year, the journals included to the domestic base of scientific citation were analyzed. At the 2nd stage the similar procedure was carried out according to the basis of foreign scientific citation.

These qualitative and quantitative results may indicate the high scientific and practical importance of expanding the publication opportunities e of the continuity educational problems, in particular the continuous medical education.

Use of scanner analyzers of microscopic preparations and computer technologies in the educational process of the department of clinical laboratory diagnostics

Abstract

The article discusses the problems of training residents by specialty 31.08.05 -"clinical laboratory diagnostics". The sections of the discipline that are the most difficult for the mastering are given - sections dealing with the implementation and interpretation of microscopic studies. New methods for mastering the specialty are given and their effectiveness is analyzed.

The pharmacist – the doctor of clinical laboratory diagnostics: new possibilities

Abstract

The article reports on the expansion of the professional application of pharmacists, namely, the possibility of carrying out their medical activities in the specialty "clinical laboratory diagnostics", which appeared in connection with the appearance of the professional standard "Specialist in clinical laboratory diagnostics". However, some regulatory problems that have arisen with the approval of this professional standard are shown. Proposed ways to overcome these problems, including the introduction of changes in a number of regulatory legal acts that regulate the healthcare system. The article is informative and should be interesting both for the management of medical, pharmaceutical universities and faculties implementing specialty programs in the specialty "pharmacy" and residency programs in the specialty "clinical laboratory diagnostics", for the management of medical organizations, and for the professional pharmaceutical community.

Psychological support of patients as important direction of professional activity of workers of an average link of obstetric and gynecologic service

Abstract

The role of psychological support as an important therapeutic and preventive measure during obstetric support of women during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period is considered in the article. The analysis of domestic system of vocational training of future obstetricians has shown that the present psychological training of these specialists doesn't provide training of skills of psychological support of patients that is in a conflict with current trends in development of health care.

Using ROC-analysis for evaluation of students’ education dynamics

Abstract

Methods of descriptive statistics and ROC-analysis allow quantify the educational process dynamics. The article considers the tack of predicting the students’ progress on the subject being studied on the basis of the single module results. As a predictive model ROC-curves built in the RapidMiner application are used.
