The Analysis of amount, structure and qualification of medical personnel in Russian Federation, and key goals for staff policy by 2020

Abstract

This article analyses the amount, structure and qualification of medical personnel in Russian Federation as compared to OECD. It considers the main grounds for the encountered problems with medical personnel recruitment and qualification. The defined major reason, which stipulates low prestige of the profession and poor qualification, is the extremely low salary of medical staff and medical education teaching personnel. The article brings forward the international experience in postgraduate medical education, including analyses of internal and external factors influencing the process. In conclusion it specifies the main aims and mechanisms to provide RF health care with qualified medical personnel.

Credit units system in post graduate professional education of physicians

Abstract
International collaborative program in medical education restructuring initiated in 1984 and aimed at creating common All-European educational territory in the sphere of professional education is successfully developing in European countries. More than one thousand European Universities employ the system of credits transfer and collection. The paper dwells on the ways of Russian educational traditions adaptation to European and International standards, introduction of continuous professional development and the system of credit units. A common structure of continuous post graduate education of medical specialists in Russia according to Boulogne declaration prin-ciples is proposed. The paper presents the system of credits collection developed in I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. The system is considered to be a common model of evaluating credit units collection system.

New technologies in the system of continuous medical education. Experience of training catastrophe medicine specialists and ambulance doctors

Abstract
Conventional system of continuous professional medical education in Russia has cyclic nature. It is composed of 5-year cycles resulting in certified advanced courses in educational institutions of higher and secondary vocational medical education. However, in the periods between certification cycles specialists are left to their own resources. The practice of on field sessions, mainly theoretical ones, held by specialists of major educational institutions cannot meet the requirements of current trends. The paper dwells on the way continuous education of medical doctors and doctor’s assistants as well as specialists in emergency medicine is organized by Perm Regional Branch of Disaster Medicine Service. The paper presents various methodical technologies, new forms of education contributing to improvment of the quality of training of the specialists providing medical care in emergency situations and traffic accidents.

Continuous professional development. Chapter 7 from the book «A Practical Guide for Medical Teachers»

Abstract

The chapter discusses the essence of the 4 stages of CPD process improvement. 4 main principles, namely, knowledge of audience, subject, format and result are presented. Methods of objective require­ments evaluation, use of clinical cases and target groups are presented. Methods of educational arrangements interactivity improvement as well as the methods of improved interaction among students are discussed.
