APPLICATION OF CHECKLISTS TO ASSESS THE PRACTICAL SKILLS IN STUDENTS OF MEDICAL UNIVERSITY

Abstract

Professional competencies of a biochemist are formed during training at a medical university, in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education, specialty 30.05.01 “Medical Biochemistry". The lack of clear criteria for assessing practical skills did not allow to assess the mastery of practical skills objectively. Therefore, the problem of developing and implementing assessment tools for practical skills has become urgent in medical education. The article presents modern methodological approaches to the assessment of knowledge and skills among 3rd year students of the Faculty of Preventive Medicine and Medical Biochemistry in the discipline “Microbiology, Virology". We have demonstrated a variant of a situational task and a checklist, which allowed us to conduct an objective and comprehensive assessment of the professional skills, which would prepare a future medical graduate for the successful completion of the primary accreditation.
