Review of eLearning technologies for medical education

Abstract

Allegations that technologies can completely transform teaching process are not new. They were advanced whenever new communication technologies including radio, cinema and television were introduced. According to recently advanced views computers and Internet can completely change teaching process and make the role of teachers in formal education unnecessary. Such effusive claims are met with criticism and calls to resume traditional form of education. The aim of the paper is to help those who are interested in eLearning use and would like to make decisions on new technologies introduction using the best international experience and evidence based studies.
