Historical Overview of the Simulation Training on Dentistry

Abstract

The article provides a historical overview of the development of a simulation training with a focus on dentistry. Simulation is a useful tool for learning. It is suitable for evaluating the effectiveness of, but there is insufficient evidence of the impact of the use of learning technologies to improve the quality of care. It is known that the educational process should include a variety of options for teaching aids for students. It may be books and manuals, models, phantoms and simulators of different levels of realism, robotic simulators and virtual simulators. In conclusion, we note that the growing interest in the implementation of a simulation training should be linked not only to the implementation of already available modules and technology, but also a deeper study of the problems in the historical vein, and from the point of view of new developments.
