AbstractThe article deals with the degree of influence of various factors on the state of health of the population in the Russian Federation. The results are based on homogeneous regional data and show that an increase in per capita government spending on health care is associated with a statistically significant increase in life expectancy (LE) at birth and life expectancy at the age of 40 and 60 years. This association is independent of various economic, social-demographic, nutritional and lifestyle factors, as well as regional specificity. It is based on annual data, collected from 83 regions of the Russian Federation for the period 2011—2014.
